1 righello graduato 4X24 (pollice)
1 taglierina con lama rotante (attenti alle dita)
Per la vostra macchina da cucire:
1 piedino ¼ di pollice
1 piedino a doppio trasporto
Friends, gym and job are stealing my free time. I do not regret it, but I wish I could have more time to spend on my blog. After my summer’s vacation I had a new resolution, post at list once a week, adding the posting on the list of “thing to do on Sunday morning”. Well, I’m late, am I? Is it today Wednesday?
This time I want speak about my new hobby: quilting.
Before picking the new project, I spent some time on quilting websites, magazines and books, I even went to a fabrics store to have an idea on what to do.
Quilting it’s funny, but to be fast and accurate you need to have the right tools, well, kind of expencive tools:
Ingredients :P
1 big table or desk
1 cutting matt 18X24 inch
1 ruler 4X24 inch
1 rotary cutter (keep your fingers safe)
For your sewing machine:
¼ inch presser foot
1 walking foot
1 open foot
Almost two weeks ago my dear friend Lesley and I spent a relaxing Sunday “four hands” sewing. To say the true, once I had half of my fabrics cut, Lesley had already start to sew the squares together.
We took our pattern from this colorful book. The instruction were calling for 40 different fabrics, yes 40! Once you are in the fabric’s store is not exactly easy to find 40 different fabrics that go together. Lesley decided to use 10 colors, I picked 20. After one hour we were home with our treasure. We enjoyed the girly afternoon, leaving the guys upstairs playing with the PS. ;P
Now, we both finish putting together the patchwork top, we are waiting the next Sunday for batting and quilting together again.
